Venice Walking Tours: City Tours

Introductory Tour of Hidden Venice and Gondola Ride

Description

Join your guide at your hotel and head to the magnificent Piazza San Marco, the heart of Venice. Here you will admire the stunning exterior of St. Mark’s Basilica, a masterpiece of Byzantine art that features dazzling mosaics depicting scenes from the life of Christ. You will also learn about the fascinating history of the relics that are housed inside the basilica.

After that, you will discover the secret nooks of Venice, strolling along winding streets and picturesque plazas that showcase the genuine beauty of the city. You will feel the history and culture of Venice in every step, as you admire the architectural wonders and artistic treasures that make this city unique. You will also enjoy the lively atmosphere and the friendly locals, who will share with you their stories and traditions. This is a great opportunity to experience Venice beyond the tourist crowds and to immerse yourself in its enchanting charm.

As you walk along the narrow streets of Venice, you will encounter a magnificent building that is a symbol of the city’s rich musical heritage. This is La Fenice, the famous opera house that has hosted many premieres of renowned composers such as Rossini, Bellini, Verdi and Stravinsky. La Fenice, which means “the phoenix” in Italian, has risen from the ashes several times after being destroyed by fires. The current structure dates back to 2003, when it was rebuilt following the original design of 1792. Inside, you will find a lavish auditorium with five tiers of boxes, decorated with gold and red velvet. The acoustics are superb, and the atmosphere is enchanting. You will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the finest operas in the world, performed by talented singers and musicians. La Fenice is not only a place of entertainment, but also a witness of history and culture. It is a must-see for any lover of music and art.

The final part of your tour is a special treat: a private gondola ride along the enchanting canals of Venice. You will glide through the water and admire the stunning architecture and history of this unique city. You will feel the romance and charm of Venice as you see it from a different angle. This is a memorable and relaxing way to end your tour and experience the magic of Venice.
