Exploring Mt. Etna: A Journey to the Summit

Volcanic Landscapes and Craters
Your adventure begins with a guided tour of Mt. Etna’s diverse landscapes. Depending on the activity level and weather conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to hike to some of the secondary craters, explore lava tubes, and enjoy panoramic views that stretch across the Ionian Sea. The unique environment of Etna, characterized by its black lava fields and sparse vegetation, offers a stark yet beautiful contrast to the lush vineyards below.

Cable Car and 4×4 Vehicles
To reach the higher altitudes, you may take a cable car and then continue in special 4×4 vehicles guided by experienced mountain guides. This part of the tour allows you to witness the dramatic moonscape of Etna’s upper slopes and get closer to the summit craters, where the power of nature is palpable.

Discovering Etna’s Wineries: A Taste of Volcanic Wines

Wine Tasting at a Local Winery
After descending from the heights of Etna, you’ll visit one of the renowned wineries that dot the volcano’s lower slopes. Here, you’ll learn about the unique viticulture that takes advantage of the volcanic soil, known for imparting distinctive mineral flavors to the wines. A guided tasting session will introduce you to the winery’s best labels, including the celebrated Etna Rosso and Etna Bianco, among others.

Sicilian Lunch Amidst the Vines
Your wine tasting experience culminates in a sumptuous lunch served at the winery, where dishes are prepared using fresh, local ingredients and are designed to complement the wines. Enjoy traditional Sicilian recipes that highlight the island’s culinary diversity, from fresh seafood to rich pasta dishes, all while surrounded by the stunning landscape of vine-covered hills and distant views of Mt. Etna.
