Your Own Italy, LLC (“Your Own Italy”) has established this privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) to keep you informed about the personally identifiable information (“PII”) we may collect from you and how it may be used and protected. PII includes information that can be linked to a specific individual, such as name, address, phone number or email address. As used in this Privacy Policy, “Content” means text, images, photos, audio, video, location data, and all other forms of data or communication. “Your Content” means Content that you submit or transmit to, through, or in connection with www.yourownitaly.com (the “Site”), such as ratings, reviews, compliments, check-ins, messages.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing and using our Site, you are acknowledging that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to be legally bound by it. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please refrain from using our Site.

Personal Information Collected

  1. Travel Arrangements. To make travel arrangements and provide other services to you, we will collect personal information from you, including but not limited to:
    1. your name, your mailing address, your phone number, email address, and birthday
    2. information necessary to facilitate travel or other services, including travel companion(s) names, emergency contacts, passport information and special dietary or medical needs
    3. personal information provided to customer-service representatives to research and resolve issues or questions; and
    4. payment information, including but not limited to your credit card number, card type, cardholder name, expiration date, and billing address.
  2. Commonly Used Internet Technologies.
    1. Your Own Italy may also use commonly employed Internet technologies to collect additional information about users. For example, Your Own Italy may use “cookies” to determine how users reach the Site and to track general usage patterns once a user is on the Site and to recognize them when they return to the Site. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that are transferred by a website and stored by your web browser on your computer’s hard drive. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies; however, you can always choose not to accept a cookie by changing your computer preferences to refuse cookies or to prompt you to accept each cookie, but doing so will limit the range of features available to you on the Site. Cookies can be used to provide you with a tailored user experience and to make it easier for you to use a website upon a future visit.
    2. You may receive emails from us about special promotions, surveys, contests, trip information, or other travel opportunities with Your Own Italy. To assess the effectiveness of these emails, we may attach a web beacon that provides confirmation when you open an email from the Site. This only occurs if your computer supports such technology. Your Own Italy also collects certain technical information from your computer each time you request a page during a visit to the Site. This information is collected from your computer’s web browser to enhance your experience on our Site and may include your IP address, operating system, web browser software (e.g., Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer), screen resolution, and referrer website.
  3. Content. In addition, as a user of Your Own Italy’s Site, you may contribute to the Site in various ways, including writing reviews, and uploading photos. By doing so, you agree that Your Own Italy has a perpetual, royalty free license to use the Content including without limitation, publicly displaying it, reformatting it, incorporating it into advertisements and other works, , distributing it, and allowing others to do the same in connection with their own websites and media platforms (“Other Media”). By “use” we mean use, copy, publicly perform and display, reproduce, distribute, modify, translate, remove, analyze, commercialize, and prepare derivative works of Your Content.

Use of Personal Information Collected

  1. Travel Arrangements and Suppliers. We use PII to complete any travel order (i.e., to complete hotel, car, tour, and other reservations), fulfill any customer service requests, and provide promotional or trip related information via email or direct mail, process payment, and other related uses. Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, we do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary or desirable to complete your order and fulfill your travel arrangements. Such other parties may include, but are not limited to, other travel suppliers, vendors we use to host our services, maintain our infrastructure and assist in our business, and credit card merchant services. The travel suppliers selected by Your Own Italy have their own privacy policies that may differ from ours. Therefore, we encourage you to review the information privacy practices of any travel suppliers whose products or services you purchase on our Site. In addition, these travel suppliers may also contact you as necessary to obtain additional information about your reservation.
  2. Administrative and Analytical Purposes. In addition to processing, confirming and fulfilling the travel or other services you request, Your Own Italy may use certain data for administrative and analytical purposes such as information systems management, accounting, billing and audits, and may provide such data to third parties assisting us in such efforts. We may also use PII to provide you other services, such as sending you an email notification regarding the status of your travel plans or informing you about special promotions, surveys, contests, sweepstakes, trip information, or other travel opportunities from Your Own Italy or its marketing partners. We may provide anonymous statistical information based on this data to suppliers, advertisers, affiliates and other current and potential business partners. We may also use such aggregate data to inform these third parties as to the number of people who have seen and clicked on links to their websites.
  3. Promotional Matters. We may collaborate with other companies to offer you additional products or services, for example, through sweepstakes, raffles, and promotions. We will share PII that is necessary for these other companies to provide the products or services that you have requested. This policy will not cover the use of your PII by these other companies. We encourage you to read a company’s privacy policy before requesting any of its products or services.
  4. Miscellaneous. Your Own Italy may disclose the information that we collect about you on a case by case basis to attorneys, private investigator organizations, law enforcement agencies, or to other third parties who in Your Own Italy’s own discretion need to know such information, in each case, if we believe (a) that you are in risk of harm from another, or (b) that you are harming or interfering (or will harm or interfere) with others, or are violating (either intentionally or unintentionally) our Site Terms and Conditions, or (c) are otherwise violating legal obligations, or (d) to otherwise enforce our rights. In addition, PII may be disclosed to the extent we are required to do by law.

Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to web sites operated and maintained by third parties over whom we have no control. The information practices of those websites are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Security

We have put in place technology designed to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of PII that you may provide to us. Due to the nature of Internet communications and evolving technologies, however, we cannot provide, and we hereby disclaim, to the extent permitted by law, any representation, warranty, or other assurance that the information you provide us will remain free from loss, misuse, or alteration by third parties who, despite our efforts, obtain unauthorized access.

Assignment or Transfer of Information You Provide

In connection with the negotiation and consummation of a merger, acquisition, stock sale, asset sale, divestiture, reorganization or other corporate transaction, Your Own Italy reserves the right to provide and transfer your PII to third parties involved in such transaction without your express consent.

Notification of Changes

From time to time, we may change this Privacy Policy. We will post notice of the new Policy from the privacy link on our Site. By accessing and using our Site following such changes, you are acknowledging that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy, as changed, and agree to be legally bound by it. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, as changed, please refrain from continuing to use our Site.

Relationship to Terms of Use and Other Contracts

This Privacy Policy must be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions, and the provisions of our Terms and Conditions are incorporated herein. To the extent the Terms and Conditions conflict with the terms of this Privacy Policy, the terms of this Privacy Policy control.

Advisory: Participation by Children and Teens

Our Site is not directed at children; if you are under the age of 18, do not provide PII to us.
